Quick connection
- 1Use a dedicated network
Connect the Mac and every display to the same Wi-Fi network. On busy sets, use a hotspot from a device reserved for the session.
- 2Open the QR code on the controller
On the Mac or in Control Without a Mac mode, choose Connect Teleprompter. On the device that will become a display, tap Scan QR and point the camera at the code.
- 3Confirm the display
After pairing, the device switches to the landscape teleprompter view. Adjust mirroring, font, column, and lens guide from its card on the controller.
Common solutions
The phone or tablet cannot find the Mac
Confirm that both devices are on the same network. On iPhone and iPad, allow Local Network access; on Android, allow Camera access for the QR scan and keep Wi-Fi enabled. Hotel, corporate, or guest networks may block device-to-device communication. A dedicated hotspot usually solves this.
The QR code opens, but pairing does not finish
Close the scanning screen, generate a new QR code on the Mac, and scan it again. The code carries a temporary credential and expires when a new session is created.
The text looks cropped or too small
Update to the latest version. Auto-fit measures each line against the device’s safe area. On the Mac, select the display and adjust Font and Column Width. No word should be replaced by an ellipsis.
The display rotated to the wrong orientation
The scanner works in portrait or landscape. Once connected, teleprompter content remains in landscape. If iPad windowed multitasking is active, maximize the app for the most predictable behavior.
How do I keep the screen awake during a recording?
On connection, teleprompter, and controller screens, Clipevo TP keeps the device awake and resumes the last session automatically after a network interruption. On a high camera or crane, keep the device powered and use Guided Access on iOS/iPadOS or app pinning on Android to reduce accidental touches. The side button, an empty battery, and thermal protection remain under system control.
The connection dropped. Do I need to scan the QR code again?
Not after an ordinary Wi-Fi interruption. The app preserves the session credential and retries by direct address and network discovery. A new QR code is only needed when the operator explicitly ends or changes the session.
Voice Scroll is not following the reading
Confirm the input selected on the controller: the Mac or mobile controller itself, or one of the connected teleprompters. Turning on Voice Scroll only arms it; listening starts after Play and stops again on Pause. Only the master source listens. On the selected TP, approve Microphone and Speech Recognition once, and keep the device close to the speaker.
How do I use the offset across multiple teleprompters?
Open Displays, order the devices as TP 1, TP 2, and TP 3, then enable Delay. TP 1 stays live, TP 2 shows the movement one second later, and TP 3 two seconds later. Visual settings still apply immediately.
How do I synchronize team speed profiles?
On the primary controller, open Reading Profiles and display the Recmart workspace QR code. Scan it once on each additional controller. The secret is kept in Passwords or Keychain; profiles work offline and merge when internet access returns.
What should I include in a useful diagnostic report?
Include device models, macOS/iOS/iPadOS/Android versions, network type, number of displays, and the exact moment the issue occurred. On Android, use “Copy diagnostics” when available. Never send a public link or an active session QR code.
